No, I have not recently acquired a rabbit. Nor have I purchased a "floofer" (pet parent speak for a guinea pig), or a chinchilla, cat, ferret, or otherwise. But if you looked at my search history, you'd definitely be giving me the side eye.

Sometimes, in the life a freelancer, you take on work that doesn't really resonate with your real life. And it can be pretty fun. As you might've guessed, I'm knee deep in cat litter and small animal bedding searches because I'm pet blogging.

I don't plan to get a pet anytime soon. I keep two humans alive on the daily, and that's a large job with a husband who works 48-hour shifts away from our house. I also take my kids to a magical place called Wisconsin for a large chunk of the summer, and between allergies, wildlife, and a host of other reasons, I'm in a no-pet cycle right now.

There can be some monotony in googling "best cat litter for elderly cats" or "why can't ferrets use wood bedding?" so I do my best to amuse myself while also putting out quality information for clients.

My latest headlines that have made me giggle, besides the title of this post include:

  • Help me rodent! Help, help me rodent!

  • Question: which type of bedding is best? (spoiler alert: there are more than two schools of thought)

  • If you wanna go and take a ride with me (this was for a transportation provider, but I'll let you know if I see any chinchillas riding shotgun at carpool)

  • Life is a highway (were truer words ever sung?)

Need help with a catchy way to propose a new idea to your staff or copywriting to jazz up a tired old message platform?
